Common Questions

Most Popular Questions

Wisdom teeth are the third molars at the back of the mouth. They usually appear in the late teens or early twenties. In some people, they come through normally. In others, there may not be enough space, which can lead to impaction, pain, infection or difficulty cleaning.

Wisdom teeth may need to be removed if they are impacted, painful, infected, difficult to clean, or causing damage to nearby teeth. Dr Willis will assess your situation and explain whether removal is recommended.

Anaesthesia or sedation is used to help minimise discomfort during treatment. After the procedure, some swelling, jaw stiffness and discomfort are common, especially during the first few days.

Sedation options may include local anaesthesia, IV sedation (twilight sedation), oral sedation and general anaesthesia in hospital. The most suitable option depends on your case, anxiety level and treatment plan.

No referral is required. You can contact Wisdom Teeth Centre directly to organise a consultation.

If you have an OPG x-ray, bring it with you. If required, Dr Willis can take an OPG x-ray or CBCT 3D scan at your initial appointment.

Recovery varies depending on the difficulty of the extraction. Swelling and discomfort are usually worse in the first few days and often improve over one to two weeks.

Any surgical procedure carries risks. These may include pain, swelling, bleeding, infection, dry socket, sinus issues, jaw stiffness or changes in sensation. Dr Willis will explain the relevant risks before treatment.

Yes. In many cases, multiple wisdom teeth can be removed in one appointment. This depends on the position of the teeth, the complexity of the case, your health, and the sedation option chosen.

The cost of Wisdom Teeth Removal varies widely across Sydney. While you might find varying prices elsewhere (up to $1000 per tooth removal), our fee reflects the total commitment to your care and a remarkably comfortable patient experience.

At the Wisdom Teeth Centre, transparency is core to how we care for our patients. We believe you should know exactly what to expect before you ever walk through our doors.

Our standard fees are:

  • Comprehensive Consultation: $195

  • Surgical Removal of 4 Wisdom Teeth: $2,800

These fees are before any eligible health fund rebates.

Consultations and treatment are available in Baulkham Hills and Chatswood. Hospital based treatment under general anaesthesia may also be available where appropriate.

After wisdom teeth removal, you should avoid smoking, drinking through a straw, alcohol, hard foods, and heavy exercise for the period advised by the clinic. Following the aftercare instructions helps reduce the risk of bleeding, infection, and dry socket.

Our Commitment to Our Community

We firmly believe that financial hardship should never be a barrier to essential, pain-free healthcare. If you are facing genuine financial difficulty and are worried about the cost of your treatment, please speak with our team.

Dr. Willis is deeply committed to patient care and has the discretion to offer reduced fees or flexible arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Your health and comfort are our absolute priorities—please reach out so we can discuss how to make your treatment possible.
