Fees
The costs of surgery are an important part of your decision to undergo a procedure, although it is more important that your dentist has the necessary training, experience and bedside manner to provide you with a high quality service.
It is extremely important to ensure that your dentist performs this type of surgery on a very regular basis and has all of the necessary equipment at their disposal. At the Wisdom Teeth Centre, we restrict our services to oral surgical procedures and wisdom teeth removal, and, with over 35 years experience and having performed well over 20,000 surgical procedures, feel very confident about providing you with an excellent service where your comfort and safety our our highest considerations.
At your initial consultation, Dr Parker will listen carefully to your needs and concerns, and will happily answer all of your questions. If you are nervous about treatment, he will explain the various forms of sedation, your options of treatment, and their associated costs. He will discuss the most efficient and cost effective method of performing your surgery.
At the Wisdom Teeth Centre, we are happy to provide an estimate of fees on our website, as we know that they are very reasonable for the excellent service we provide.
Initial consultation: $180
If you are having surgery in hospital:
Hospital Costs depend on whether you have private health insurance. If you have private hospital cover (and have had it for more than 12 months) then most health funds will fully cover the cost of the hospital stay. Also discuss with your health fund whether you have chosen to have an excess to be paid.
Additionally, there will be a bill from the anaesthetist. Medicare (and possibly your health fund) will cover a proportion of this bill, however, there will usually be a gap of approx $300-$450 that you will need to fund.
If you having surgery under IV sedation (Twilight sleep)
The IV sedation fee is $690. If you have private health insurance you may be able to claim some of this.
Remember: Don’t look for bargains in parachutes or health care (particularly surgery)!
